Megan Fate Marshman
If you’ve ever met Megan or heard her speak you know that she’s hope, energy, joy, and sincerity all stirred together. One of the most frequent questions people ask is, “Is she for real?” She is. She absolutely is. The person she is on stages around the world is the person she is on car rides… the kind of car ride where you keep missing your turn because the conversation is just that good!
Megan is determined to use her life to spread hope, share truth, and celebrate others. She holds a Doctorate of Ministry and she serves as a teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church and the Director of Women’s Ministries at Hume Christian Camps. She also shepherds women at Arbor Road Church in Long Beach, California.
She invests her time in people, writing books and Bible studies, and exploring all over the globe, teaching and sharing the love of Jesus.
She released the book and study guide Relaxed (2024) and Beautiful Word Bible study: John (2022, Harper Collins), authored the book and Bible study Meant for Good (2020, Zondervan), SelfLess (2017, David C Cook), and co-wrote the book 7 Family Ministry Essentials with Dr. Michelle Anthony (2015, David C Cook).
But what we love most about Megan is the way that she sees others. She has a keen ability to notice the people around her and to ask the kinds of questions that help her see them even more clearly.
Megan lives in Lakewood, California with her husband Scott and their 4 boys.

Steve Cuss
Steve is the author of Managing Leadership Anxiety: Yours and Theirs and The Expectation Gap and also a columnist and host of Christianity Today’s Being Human podcast. Steve founded Capable Life to help people lower anxiety, break stuck patterns and increase wellbeing in the work place, home place and in your faith. When Steve served as a trauma and hospice chaplain at a young age he learned how what was going on inside him could quickly affect his ability to be present to people in pain. He also learned how to notice the dynamics between people.
These early lessons and later study served Steve well as he works with organizations on team health and the infectious nature of anxiety. Steve was first exposed to Family Systems Theory when he was a chaplain and he later studied it in graduate school. Steve holds sixteen hundred hours of supervised ministry in Clinical Pastoral Education and is a Spiritual Care Professional in the ACPE. He holds a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel Christian Seminary with a thesis focusing on the dignity laws of Leviticus and Exodus and how a suburban church can move beyond charity to address systemic poverty. Steve is proud to be a strategic partner with Compassion International, International Justice Mission, Leadership Network, Missio Alliance, A21 and more.
Steve is an ordained pastor and has faithfully served in local churches for 26 years. From 2005 - 2021, Steve was Lead Pastor at Discovery Christian Church in Broomfield, CO He transitioned leadership and now works part-time for the church and full-time in speaking and consulting. Discovery works to reach the intellectual skeptic with the Gospel and also to break systemic poverty locally and globally. Under Steve’s tenure, the church grew from 150 to more than 1200 in weekly attendance and moved from portable to building its own building. Steve is a capital campaign veteran :) Prior to Discovery, Steve served in crisis intervention at a mega church in Las Vegas, on a ranch for struggling teens, and as a youth minister in the Appalachian region.
Steve was privileged to grow up in Perth, Western Australia, in an adventurous family of origin. After moving to the United States for theological study, he married Lisa, and they have two sons and a daughter, in whom they take great delight. When Steve is not working, you can find him laughing with his family, knee-deep in a trout stream, or trying a guitar he cannot afford at a local music store.
