Board operation through prayer, discernment, and governance

What is the role of a church board?

A team entrusted to represent God to His people—discerning rather than deciding, governing rather than controlling—as they lead the church forward in God’s mission for the sake of His Kingdom.

The GLR’s role is to support and equip the local church board to understand the importance and uniqueness of their role and to encourage them to keep their eyes fixed on the vision and mission to which God is calling them, their lead pastor, and their church.

We believe that a board will serve most effectively when they keep a Kingdom perspective and are willing to function in a manner of discerning where the Holy Spirit leads and directs rather than relying on human decision-making.
